Pancake Love
n the menu for Saturday morning breakfast were Buttermilk Pancakes so we could test out my new frying pan, a birthday surprise from BD. The maiden voyage proved that it cooks a mean pancake. And it's heavy enough to give any potential home invader a serious head injury if needed. Consider yourself warned. I might keep it under my bed. Shortly after BD and I were married it came as a big shock to learn he hadn't been taught the correct way to eat pancakes. Meaning, he didn't cut his stack with an "X" before pouring the syrup. Huge penalty that we have since remedied. The "X" marks the spot technique allows the syrup to seep down into the middle of the stack for a more evenly distributed syrup:pancake ratio with every bite.

What is the delicious syrup you are putting on them?!!!
Lacy, that would be Magleby's buttermilk syrup...it's to die for :)
And boy is it good!
our fave syrup too - we are nuts about this little x tip (we are easily excited about pancake suggestions apparently...)

Yum! Yum! Yum! That looks like the perfect cure for just about any ailment! :)
(and I'm perfectly jealous of your new kitchen addition...on my wishlist!)
hb to you! (lame that it's late.)
you share with my daughter--so it's pretty much the best birthday, EVER.
hope it was wonderful!
Did you make it or buy it? My mom makes it occasionally but I don't live there to be able to enjoy it.
